Thursday, February 23, 2017 - 8:00pm
Join the Duke Wind Symphony as we celebrate Prof. Emeritus, former conductor and active euphonium player of the Duke University Wind Symphony Paul Bryan's 97th birthday. We invite you for an evening of celebratory music and highlights from PB's era. You will hear classics such as Dear Old Duke, BOYA concert march, a premiere performance of Robert Langenfeld's "Curtain in the Sky"-- and you get to see former DUWS alumni join us on stage. Special guests include guest conductor Miguel Etchegoncelay, guest composers Robert Langenfeld and Phillip Rhodes, and Duke faculty composer Anthony Kelley. Don't miss this exciting evening of music making, with special moments, special guest, and a Birthday cake! Argentinian conductor Miguel Etchegoncelay lives in France and conducts community bands in France, Switzerland, and Germany. He teaches orchestral conducting at the Strasbourg's Conservatory of Music and the Haute Ecole des Arts du Rhin (HEAR).
