Bach solo violin sonatas and partitas on a period instrument. French violinist Gabriel Richard is a tenure-track first violin at the Paris Orchestra, as well as founder and member of the Thymos String Quartet. He tours regularly in Japan, Korea, China, and Europe. With the Thymos Quartet, he has been invited to tour in the USA and Brazil in 2016. Gabriel Richard plays a beautiful violin by Jean-Baptiste Vuillaume. This concert is presented in association with DUMIC (Duke University Musical Instrument Collections) and Richard Powell, Dean of the Humanities.
