featuring the ensemble DUE EAST (Greg Beyer, percussion and Erin Lesser, flute) and introducing Duke's newest faculty composer, John Supko
Supko's LITTORAL, for flute, percussion and computer sounds, on texts of Cees Notebohm and Richard Haklyut, is a "music of shifting terrains, each with its distinct sense of time and color and space...more alluring than any destination plotted on a timeable."
Also featured on the program will be Petra Berényi, cimbalom, performing works by Györgi Kurtag and other Hungarian composers. George Crumb's PROCESSIONAL will also be featured.
