Graduate Courses Open to Qualified Undergraduates

Graduate work in music can be expedited by including certain items in your undergraduate program. In one way or another you should try to arrange close contact with one or more faculty members involving their areas of expertise. Independent Study is especially recommended, for it provides vital experience in the real world of scholarship, conducting, composition, and performance. Qualified upper-level undergraduates are also eligible to take graduate courses at the 200-level in the Department of Music. For further information on graduate study in music, consult the Director of Graduate Studies.
