Chinese Music Ensemble
The Chinese Music Ensemble is offered through the Chamber Music program in the Department of Music. It is a course for students who would like to further their musical and cultural experiences by performing traditional Chinese music using both Eastern and Western musical instruments.
In addition to attending one weekly 2-hour session under the direction of Jennifer Chang, students will participate in the end of semester performance summarizing the semester’s work. Entrance is by permission of the instructor. Students at all levels, including those with no prior experience in Chinese music, but with some background in performance, are encouraged to contact the instructor for more information.
This Fall, the ensemble will form a group of strings. We particularly need string players (violin, viola, cello, bass) and percussionists to join our group!
The course will be graded Pass/Fail. For more information, contact Prof. Hsiao-mei Ku.
