The Ciompi Quartet brings chamber music to life in fresh and informal settings with the return of its popular concert series in diverse locations. Each one-hour program pairs the Quartet's signature artistry with performances by standout student ensembles from Chamber Music at Duke, creating a vibrant mix of seasoned talent and emerging voices.
This performance includes Alissa Firsova's evocative Tennyson Fantasy for String Quartet, Op. 36-a vibrant work that brings poetry to life through music. Three of Tennyson's most beloved poems will be read by Duke/Durham-based theater artist, Jules Odendahl-James.
Come for the music, stay for the spontaneity-no stage required.
