He began the 2015-16 season in his debut with Den Norske Opera in Oslo, Norway as the title role in "Il barbiere di Siviglia," a role which he reprised in November in his highly anticipated return to the San Francisco Opera. Meachem makes two role debuts this season in the United States: as Giorgio Germont in "La Traviata" with Opera Birmingham, and as Dr. Malatesta in "Don Pasquale" with the Palm Beach Opera. Meacham made his Metropolitan Opera debut in 2008 and has appeared with the Los Angeles Opera, Lyric Opera of Chicago, San Francisco Opera, and in Europe at the Vienna State Opera, Opéra National de Paris, and many others. Born in North Carolina, he studied music at Appalachian State University, the Eastman School of Music and Yale University before becoming an Adler fellow with the San Francisco Opera. This master class is presented in association with the Office of the Vice Provost for the Arts at Duke University.
