Hsiao-mei Ku, violin; David Meyer, cello; R. Larry Todd, piano: Frank Bridge's Piano Trio No. 2 (1929)

Pianist R. Larry Todd, violinist Hsiao-mei Ku, and cellist David Meyer perform Frank Bridge's Piano Trio No. 2 (1929) in the culminating concert of the symposium "British Music & Europe in the Age of Brexit," presented in association with the Franklin Humanities Institute: Humanities Futures. Attendance at the symposium is not required to attend the concert, which is free and open to the public. Hsiao-mei Ku is a Professor in the Department of Music and a member of the Ciompi Quartet. She made her debut at age seven and began her professional training three years later at the Central Conservatory in Beijing. After coming to America, she received her Master of Music degree with distinction and was a recipient of the Performer's Certificate from the School of Music, Indiana University. David Meyer joined the North Carolina Symphony at the beginning of the 2013/14 season after performing for a year as a member of the Charlotte Symphony Orchestra. He served as principal cellist of the Verbier Festival Orchestra and New World Symphony, among others. R. Larry Todd is Arts and Sciences Professor of Music and former chair of the Music Department at Duke University. A graduate of Yale University, where he received his Ph.D., he studied piano at the Yale School of Music and with the late Lilian Kallir. His current projects include recording the Beethoven violin sonatas with Katharina Uhde.
