Intermediate Guitar Class

MUSIC 201-3

This course is a follow-up to the intro guitar class, and enrollment requires having received an 'A' in intro guitar or a demonstration of sufficient skill via audition or video submission. This is a smaller class for dedicated players who wish to enhance their fingerstyle guitar technique, standard notation reading, and music theory in both solo and ensemble repertoire while receiving ample individualized instruction. Musical selections will be sourced mainly from the Spanish guitar repertoire, with some supplementation from popular genres. Daily practice is a must, as students will be preparing parts to play in an ensemble with their peers both in class and in the recital at the conclusion of the semester. A nylon string, classical guitar is required to participate in this course.
