Dayton Kinney

Dayton Kinney (Ph.D. Composition, 2021) is a composer whose work has been recognized internationally. Her doctoral dissertation composition, Of My Own!, advanced to the second round of the International Antonín Dvořák Composition Competition, where she competed in Prague among a select group of finalists. Her music has also been performed in major venues, including Carnegie Hall’s Weill Recital Hall, where the Sirius Quartet presented her string quartet The Canary Who Sang as part of their concert Playing on the Edge 2: Modern String Quartet Works. Originally composed in 2016, the work was later recorded by the Sirius Quartet and released on their album Music on the Edge, Volume 2(Navona Records, 2020).
