Jonathan Santore

Stevens-Bristow Endowed Professor of Music, Plymouth State University

Jonathan Santore (AB, 1985) has been awarded the Stevens-Bristow Endowed Professorship by Plymouth State University, where he has taught music composition and theory since 1994. His compositions have won honors including The American Prize in Composition (Professional Choral Division), the American Composers Forum Welcome Christmas! Carol Contest, and the Award for Distinguished Scholarship from his colleagues at Plymouth State. After many years as composer in residence for the New Hampshire Master Chorale, Santore has recently turned his creative focus toward works for band/wind ensemble, and compositions for digital media. His work Two Letters of Sulpicia, for mezzo and fixed media, was featured on the recent Naxos CD These Distances Between Us.
