Jonathan Santore

Stevens-Bristow Endowed Professor of Music, Plymouth State University

Jonathan Santore (A.B., 1985) has been awarded the Stevens-Bristow Endowed Professorship at Plymouth State University, where he has taught composition and music theory since 1994. An accomplished composer, Santore’s works have received numerous honors, including The American Prize in Composition (Professional Choral Division), the American Composers Forum Welcome Christmas! Carol Contest, and Plymouth State’s Award for Distinguished Scholarship.

After many years as composer-in-residence for the New Hampshire Master Chorale, Santore has recently turned his creative attention toward new works for band and wind ensemble, as well as compositions for digital media. His piece Two Letters of Sulpicia, for mezzo-soprano and fixed media, was recently featured on the Naxos recording These Distances Between Us.
