Caroline Stinson performs Beethoven in Lithuania

Caroline Stinson, associate professor of the practice of music and Ciompi Quartet cellist, is performing in Lithuania during Duke's Spring Break 2022.

In collaboration with pianist Gabrielius Alekna, Stinson has created the program "Dialogues with Beethoven," which presents three works by the composer juxtaposed with 20th and 21st century pieces by Webern, Andrew Waggoner, and Lithuanian composer Žibuoklė Martinaitytė. 

Stinson and Alekna performed "Dialogues with Beethoven" at Duke in January 2022. For their Lithuanian tour, they will play at the National Philharmonic in the capital of Vilnius and in Klaipėda Concert Hall in Klaipėda, on the Baltic Sea. A third scheduled performance, at Kharkiv in Ukraine, was canceled.

In addition to the concerts, Prof. Stinson will lead masterclasses at the National Čiurlionis School of Art in Vilnius, the alma mater of Duke Music associate professor of the practice Ieva Jokubaviciute.
