Chamber Music at Duke: Concert 1

Monday, April 20, -
Join us for the first of two celebratory evenings as Chamber Music at Duke presents a vibrant showcase featuring 15-20 student ensembles performing repertoire that spans more than 300 years of musical tradition. From intimate duets to expansive octets, these concerts highlight the extraordinary range, creativity, and collaborative spirit that define Duke's chamber music program.

Chamber Music at Duke is a thriving community of musicians-from first-year students exploring ensemble playing for the first time to advanced performers studying major works in depth. Open to all instruments and all levels, the program nurtures artistry through shared music-making, encouraging participants to listen deeply, communicate clearly, and form strong musical partnerships.

This first evening's concert offers a rich sampling of works across eras and styles, reflecting the diversity of voices that shape the chamber music canon. Whether performed with youthful exuberance or seasoned nuance, each piece showcases the commitment and curiosity of Duke's student musicians.

At a time when the world can feel increasingly divided, chamber music stands as a powerful reminder of the value of collaboration, empathy, and collective expression. This concert invites listeners into that experience-celebrating the art of making music together.

Free and open to the public. All are welcome.
