UNC Symphony Orchestra premieres new work by Maxwell Ramage

Max Ramage is a musicology graduate student in the Duke University Department of Music.  A native of Durham, he holds degrees from Yale and Indiana University and has won a number of honors for his compositions. Taiga, premiered by the UNC Symphony Orchestra, is an atmospheric tone poem.

Ramage is also an accomplished violinist and member of the chamber music group Contrarian Trio, which performs at Duke University and in the community. He will direct the Duke Collegium Musicum, the Music Department's ensemble for early music, in Spring 2020.
